I'm Indi Rajpal, a Strength Coach at Angel Gyms. My journey to where I am today has been anything but ordinary, filled with physical and mental challenges that have shaped my perspective on life and fitness. At Angel Gyms, mental health is at the core of what we do, and today, I want to share a bit of my story and how it drives our mission.
Picture this: I was in my twenties when most people explored life's opportunities and adventures. But fate had different plans for me. I was struck by a life-altering accident where I was hit by a Bus crossing the road that left me severely injured and two days to live, but I made it through. But this wouldn't be my last dance with fate. During my later twenties, I was diagnosed with stage three Hodgkins Lymphoma and underwent six months of chemotherapy. Although I had the belief to overcome these hurdles in both instances, I still had deep underlying trauma that I wasn't acknowledging. These experiences forced me to dive deeper into mental health struggles, and it became clear that I needed a holistic approach to healing.
Fast forward to today, and I'm proud to be a part of Angel Gyms, an inclusive personal training gym that prioritises physical and mental well-being. We're nestled in the heart of Clapham and Shoreditch, offering a safe and supportive environment for anyone who walks through our doors.
Our founders, including the visionary entrepreneur Gabe Saclain, recognized the same issues I faced in the fitness industry. Traditional gyms can be intimidating and lack the support needed, especially during times of mental health challenges. This realization led to the birth of Angel Gyms, a place where mental health support is as important as physical fitness.
